HOSTED BY THE INDYTUTE
In this fascinating workshop you will be learning how to make neon! Transcribe an idea into a neon drawing, and learn how to fill the glass forms with gas to make energy saving, 100% recyclable light.
What to expect?
This is a beginner’s day course into the art that is neon. No previous experience is necessary and by the end of the day you will take home a piece of neon that you have designed, and assisted in making. The maximum size is anything that can be made from a 1.5m piece of glass. Expect mesmerising demonstrations of cutting, blowing, stretching and fusing. Blow lamps will be provided.
Please Note: You have the option to make the neon yourself but it does take years of practice to get right and is tricky, so one of the tutors will be on hand to make it for you so that you can go home with your design.
This is a one-day course and takes place at The Greenhouse in Stoke Newington (a really cool creative space). The workshop runs four times a year. There are just six people a class so please don't leave it too late to book as this experience always sells out.
Date: Friday 19th October, 10.00am - 5.00pm
Location: The Greenhouse, 49 Green Lanes, London, N16 9BU
Investment: £380
