Magic & Healing Tea Ceremony

In this intimate Tea Ceremony you will sit with Tea for an hour and then explore the ways in which the Tea Ceremony can be healing for your body, mind and spirit - led by Lera, from @withtlovers.

One of the very powerful human practices is to live life connected to our senses. Yet, how often do we do it? We go through life jumping from one thing to another, thinking about things, people, situations, having concepts and ideas about them, and not seeing them as they are. As a result of being in our heads we miss the opportunity for real connection.

When we engage all or most of our senses at the same time, we drop from our head to our body, from our mind to our heart. And another sense is created - the Sense of the Heart. We can no longer be in our thoughts, taking in life through concepts, beliefs and ideas. Instead, we are then able to have a direct, meaningful, deep and intimate experience of Being. Of our life. And that's what we ultimately crave for - intimacy with life. Experiencing magic in everyday moments , in the mundane, in the ordinary. From moment to moment. When we are able to do that profound healing happens.

Understanding Conflict Styles in the Workplace

  • Charring Cross London, WC2N 4BD United Kingdom (map)

Only 5 places remain, so hurry!

Screen Shot 2019-08-29 at 10.51.44.png

HOSTED BY Tracey Liv Coaching

Did you know that according to research from Stanford University, CEO’s say that the area they most want to develop is conflict resolution?!

Do you face challenges such as:

  • avoiding asking for a raise or not raising your prices?

  • do you always have arguments or tension with certain people or colleagues?

  • not being as innovative or collaborative as you'd like to be?

  • always putting others needs before your own?

What if you knew how to modify your behaviour and how you approached these conflicts to get exactly what you wanted?!

Conflicts are a natural phenomenon and part of business and in life.

We all face conflicts and challenges, small and large, but whether you create the best possible outcomes for yourself and others will depend on how you behave.

Your behavior can create high performing teams, more sales and happier clients, or how you behave can result in employee attrition, not utilising the full talent of staff and can perpetuate negative workplace cultures.

You actually have more control at getting what you want than you think.

Screen Shot 2019-08-29 at 11.01.27.png

By the end of the day, you will be able to:

  • Use your newfound learning, skills and insights to change your behavior and create immediate results

  • Use a systematic approach to reading conflict situations

  • Differentiate between functional and dysfunctional expressions of the five conflict modes

  • Adjust your style to give better feedback, communicate more effectively and be a better manager/leader

  • Identify the impact of bias on conflict management

About Hanna Bier

_N1A0204-1.jpeg

HANNA WORKS WITH AMBITIOUS WOMEN ACROSS THE WORLD TO HELP THEM HEAL DEEPLY AND CREATE THE BEAUTIFUL AND SUCCESSFUL LIVES THEY'VE ALWAYS WANTED!

In her early twenties, she moved to Bali, Indonesia, with the intention of starting a business and living the tropical island dream. She was finally free to create her life the way she wanted it, but looking into the future gave her stomach aches.

Throughout her life she had been struggling with mental illness, her diagnoses ranging from PTSD, to an anxiety disorder, depression and an eating disorder.

SHE KNEW DEEP DOWN THAT SHE WAS CAPABLE OF SO MUCH, BUT SHE WAS EXHAUSTED, SELF-CONSCIOUS AND NEEDED A BREAK TO HEAL.

Screen Shot 2019-07-08 at 11.06.33.png

So she rode her scooter around the island. She sat in cafes overlooking the rice paddies and scribbled business ideas into her notebook. She wore flowers in her hair and swam with all kinds of colourful fish.

Hearts and minds: The science of behaviour change

  • The Royal Institution of Great Britain (map)

i5go5acfry0.jpg

Hosted by The Royal institution

Many problems that our society faces – climate change, poor health, depleted natural resources – require us to change the way we do things. To combat climate change we need to use less fossil fuel. To reduce obesity we need to eat less and move more. To reduce lung cancer we need to stop smoking. The list goes on.

So if we know what to do, why aren’t these problems solved? Behavioural science has found that we don’t always act rationally or in our best interest, and simply being told what we need to be doing doesn’t work. Understanding how people make decisions can help us design interventions that encourage people to change behaviour in beneficial ways. However, there is an important balance to be struck between personal freedom and helping people lead better lives.

Join a panel of experts as they explore this fascinating area at the intersection of psychology, economics and policy.

About the speakers

Susan Michie is Professor of Health Psychology and Director of the Centre for Behaviour Change at UCL. Susan's research focuses on developing the science of behaviour change interventions and applying behavioural science to interventions. She works with a wide range of disciplines, practitioners and policy-makers and holds grants from a large number of organisations including the Wellcome Trust, National Institute of Health Research, Economic and Social Research Council and Cancer Research UK.

Nick Chater has over 200 publications, has won four national awards for psychological research, and has served as Associate Editor for the journals Cognitive Science, Psychological Review, and Psychological Science. He was elected a Fellow of the Cognitive Science Society in 2010 and a Fellow of the British Academy in 2012. Nick is co-founder of the research consultancy Decision Technology; and is on the advisory board of the Cabinet Office's Behavioural Insight Team (BIT), popularly know as the 'Nudge Unit'.

Toby Park leads the energy and sustainability work at BIT (Behavioural Insights Team), covering topics as diverse as domestic energy use, sustainable transport and wider pro-environmental behaviours including recycling, food consumption, air quality and water conservation. The energy and sustainability team also work closely with the productivity and economic growth team, with an interest in promoting sustainable business practice and green growth. Toby also works with our consumers team supporting our housing work.

Toby’s background is originally in engineering, having spent a number of years running environmental impact assessments and acoustic design work for architectural and building services clients. He returned to academia to focus on social and cognitive psychology before joining BIT in 2014. He holds Masters degrees in Engineering (1st class) and Psychology (distinction).

The event will be chaired by Stavroula Kousta, Chief Editor of Nature Human Behaviour

Positive Body Image and Confidence

autumn-goodman-vTL_qy03D1I-unsplash.jpg

HOSTED BY Kobini Ananth Coaching

About Kobini Ananth

After struggling with an eating disorder for almost 20 years, Kobini learnt to see her body for all that it does for her instead of how it purely looks on a superficial level. This was life changing and by changing her beliefs and worldview, her ‘weight problems’ literally disappeared. And this is one of the biggest reasons why she decided to become a Transformational Life Coach.

Kobini is also an Economist and Musician, which she really enjoys. She really believes anyone who wants to pursue multiple interests/careers can do so in a balanced way.

Kobini Ananth Coaching helps people who are struggling to feel completely themselves in their bodies, move to a place where they believe they’re enough and where they start loving themselves and their bodies unconditionally.

Event image.jpg

What to expect:

Come and join her at this event where you will explore how to unconditionally love yourself and your body.

This workshop is for you if:

  •  You’re tired of wishing you looked different

  •  You’re obsessed with how much you have (or haven’t) eaten

  •  Your mood fluctuates depending on the number shown on the scale

  •  You wished you had more confidence

  •  You don’t feel good enough

  •  You’re not feeling completely yourself in your body

At this workshop, you will cover tools that can help you with:

  •  Identifying the limiting beliefs that are making you feel this way

  •  Replacing these with more empowering beliefs that will enable you to feel more alive and yourself in your body

  •  Living with self-compassion and acceptance

  •  Feeling ‘normal’ around food

  •  Creating your best life that is free from body obsession

There will be a safe space here, where together, you will learn to love yourself and your body dangerously, despite our surrounding images and messages telling us otherwise. And trust us, when you get there, your whole world will start to shift and you’ll become unstoppable!

A New Moon Tea Ceremony

The aroma, the taste, the colour and the aftertaste of tea are all representative of the balance of your mind, spirit and lives.

In the process of serving tea Gazelli Skincare create a relationship between the tea host and guests. And this creates such a deep bonding experience! Sometimes it is done in silence, and sometimes the knowledge about tea, stories and laughter are exchanged, but the result is always of that strong special bond between people drinking tea.

With each cup of tea we share love, compassion, peace, gratitude, harmony. As a result, tea events, and especially tea ceremonies, almost always bring a feeling of balance and contentment back into our lives. As well as a feeling of companionship with the people we share our tea with.

Tune into the precious ceremony of tea with the lovely Lera from @withtlovers as she guides you through the importance of awareness and presence with all your being during this special, gentle event that calls you to pause and reconnect.

Who doesn’t love the spring bloom? Winter is over and temperatures are increasing. But did you know that many plants won’t flower until they have been exposed to the prolonged cold of winter? Caroline Dean will explore how plants monitor seasons and how their molecular memory systems, similar to those in our own bodies, help plants sense fluctuating winter temperatures and judge when winter is over.
